Geofisica: il prof. Giuliano Panza professore onorario alla Bucea

Il prof. Giuliano Panza, rappresentante dell’International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (Iugg) –  cui il Cnr aderisce per l’Italia- e Presidente della Commissione Cnr-Iugg, è stato nominato Professore onorario della Beijing University of Civil Engineerig and Architecture (Bucea) e Membro del Comitato di Consulenza del Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Future Urban Design.

La cerimonia ufficiale di questo prestigioso riconoscimento è avvenuta in occasione della 12th General Assembly of the Asian Seismological Commission (Asc) e della 4th International Conference on Continental Earthquakes (Icce)  lo scorso 10 Maggio 2018 a Pechino, Cina, dove il prof. Giuliano Panza ha presentato la relazione su invito ‘Reliable time variable seismic hazard assessment Ndsha and Gps’.

Il  Presidente della Bucea, prof. Zhang, ha così motivato il conferimento: “Prof. Giuliano Panza is an internationally well known professor in seismology and earthquake engineering. He is honorary member of the PhD school of Trieste University and member of prestigious National and International Academies. It is our pleasure to invite and appoint prof. Giuliano Panza as the honorable professor at Beijing University of Civil Engineerig and Architecture, as well as the consultancy committee member of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Future Urban Design. The future contribution from prof. Panza will further advance our research and education in the relevant fields. In particular about the city, called Xiongan that the government is going to “create” to help to move part of the central government agency and population now in central Beijing city”.

Giuliano Panza, olim docente di Sismologia all’Università di Trieste, è Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, membro dell’Accademia Nazionale Lincei, dell’Accademia Nazionale delle Scienze detta dei XL, dell’Academia Europaea, della Academy of Sciences for the Developing World e della Russian Academy of Sciences.
