Niente maschere né costumi, a Paraty ci si veste di fango

Nel Carnevale di Paraty, in Brasile, chi partecipa si veste solo di fango. La festa in questo piccolo Stato di Rio de Janeiro, detta Bloco de Lama, richiama ogni anno centinaia di persone.

Si tratta di un’usanza nata per caso nel 1986, sulla spiaggia di Jabaquara. La parata, adottata in seguito dal locale Dipartimento del turismo, è diventata poi un appuntamento fisso.
